Udupi: A large-scale job fair is set to be held in Udupi on September 13, promising employment opportunities for thousands of job seekers. The event will take place from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm at the Ajjarkad District Stadium and is expected to be one of the biggest recruitment drives in the district in recent years.

Organisers and scale of the event

The fair is being organised under the joint auspices of the Udupi Municipal Corporation and Malpe Sri Gyan Jyoti Bhajana Mandir Suvarna Sambhrama Samithi, in collaboration with MS/S Yashas Management Solution Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, MLA Yash Pal Suvarna, and Municipal Corporation President Prabhakar Poojary.

Addressing a press conference, MLA Yash Pal Suvarna confirmed that over 100 companies have registered to participate, representing diverse sectors including IT, healthcare, manufacturing, banking, retail, hospitality, and construction. “We are expecting more than 4,000 job seekers to attend the fair. There will be 75 recruitment counters, and online registration facilities are also available to streamline the process,” he said.

Organisers have announced that breakfast, lunch and refreshments will be provided to candidates and recruiters attending the event. The arrangements are aimed at creating a comfortable and accessible environment for both employers and job seekers, ensuring smooth recruitment operations.

Previous success and expectations

Municipal Corporation President Prabhakar Poojary recalled that a previous job fair conducted at Bannanje had resulted in 1,410 job placements. “With an even larger turnout expected this time, we are confident that the fair will open up significant employment avenues for youth in Udupi and surrounding regions,” he added.

Key officials present at the press conference included Vice President Rajni Hebbar, Standing Committee President Sundar Kalmadi, and Sri Gyan Jyoti Bhajana Mandir President Gyaneshwar Kotian.
