Udupi: A special GST awareness session will be held on August 4 at 3 PM, jointly organized by the Udupi District Traders’ Welfare Forum and the Udupi branch of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
Announcing the initiative, Anand Karnad, president of the Traders’ Welfare Forum, said the event is being held in response to a recent government notification regarding GST registration and tax compliance, which has triggered tax arrear notices worth lakhs of rupees to many traders, entrepreneurs, and small business owners.
The two-hour interactive session, to be attended by senior GST officials, aims to educate participants on proper responses to tax notices, clarify filing responsibilities, and build a clear understanding of applicable GST rules.
Karnad emphasized that the event will be especially beneficial for small and mid-level business owners who are seeking clarity on GST regulations and wish to avoid compliance errors. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and get expert guidance.
Also present at the press conference were Oswald Saldana (Secretary), Rashid (Joint Secretary), and Maxim Saldana (Vice President), who urged traders across the district to make use of the opportunity.
