Udupi: A video featuring a woman carrying a dog and allegedly arguing with a rickshaw driver has recently gone viral, prompting a flurry of online opinions. The woman involved has now issued a clarification, explaining the situation from her perspective.
She stated that she had stepped out briefly to speak with a friend near her residence when she noticed a school auto-rickshaw passing by. According to her, this particular electric auto frequently drives at high speeds, especially while turning near her house — an area she feels is dangerously prone to accidents.
Due to the auto’s low noise level, she added, it can be hazardous for pedestrians and residents nearby. Concerned for public safety, she halted the auto to discuss the issue with the driver.
She clarified that her dog never obstructed the vehicle, a fact she claims is clearly evident in CCTV footage from the location. However, she alleges that during the interaction, the conversation was deliberately shifted toward the dog’s leash to misrepresent the situation.

She further claimed that the auto driver and his associates began recording selectively and then verbally abused her. She filed a police complaint, after which authorities reviewed the CCTV footage and summoned the auto driver.
Following the inquiry, the driver admitted his fault and issued an apology.
Her message to the public: “Before forming opinions based on viral clips, always consider both sides and look at the full context.”
