Youth Killed in Tragic Bike-Bus Collision on Hemmadi–Kollur Road

Kundapur – A 25-year-old man, Sharath, from Sigandur, lost his life in a devastating road accident near Mallari curve, close to Kenchanur, on the Hemmadi–Kollur main road on Monday afternoon.

Sharath was riding his Duke bike when it collided head-on with a private bus travelling from Hemmadi to Kollur. The impact of the crash was severe—Sharath suffered critical head and leg injuries and was thrown onto the road. Though he was immediately transported to Kundapur Government Hospital by ambulance, doctors pronounced him brought dead.

The collision also caused the bike’s petrol tank to leak, which led to a fire on the radiator, reducing the motorcycle to ashes on the roadside.

Officials including Circle Inspector Jayaram D Gowda of Shankaranarayana police station and Traffic SI Prasad Kumar from Kundapur visited the accident site and conducted an initial inspection. A case has been registered at the Kundapur Traffic Police Station, and further investigation is underway.

This tragic incident adds to the growing concerns over road safety along this busy route, known for sharp curves and increasing vehicular traffic.
