A heart-stopping encounter unfolded in Yelvalli village, Kumta taluk, Uttara Kannada district, Karnataka, as Ganesh Bhat stumbled upon a massive king cobra in his kitchen at the crack of dawn. With swift action, he dialed wildlife rescuer Pavan Naik, who fearlessly captured the serpent and released it back into the wild.
In a dramatic scene captured by cameraperson Gopi Joli, Pavan Naik demonstrated exceptional courage and skill as he tackled the formidable reptile. Despite the darkness, he utilized a headlamp to track the cobra’s movements, eventually maneuvering it into a sack for safe transport.
However, the saga didn’t end there. The resilient snake managed to escape the sack and launch a surprise attack on Pavan’s feet. Undeterred, he swiftly evaded the strike and successfully re-captured the cobra, finally releasing it into the dense forest nearby.
Ashok Naik, a local villager, recounted the tense moments, emphasizing the initial shock when they realized the snake’s true identity. With Pavan’s timely arrival and expertise, the entire operation concluded within an hour, leaving the community in awe of his bravery.
