Mangaluru: A delegation led by Kozhikode MP M.K. Raghavan will meet Karnataka Chief Minister on August 28 to discuss the ongoing search for Arjun, a Kozhikode native missing since the massive landslide in Shirur. The delegation, including Arjun’s relatives, Mangaluru MLA A.K.M. Ashraf, and Karwar MLA Satish Sail, will also meet the Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister. They will request the commencement of dredging operations in the Gangavali river to aid the search.

Arjun, a truck driver, disappeared on July 16 after the landslide buried his truck under mud on the riverbank. Despite a 13-day search on land and water, no trace of Arjun has been found. The Uttar Kannada District Collector has informed that dredging would cost approximately Rs 96 lakh.

Dakshina Kannada district authorities have reported that no human presence was detected in the riverbed during the search using various devices.
