Recent heavy rainfall in Bhatkal has led to significant challenges with water accumulation on major routes such as the Ranginkatta National Highway and Sagar Road. Concurrently, internal roads across the taluk have deteriorated severely, hindering vehicular movement.

Of particular concern is the road connecting Hindu Colony to Muzammil Masjid under the Jali Patan Panchayat limits, which has been washed out, rendering it impassable for commuters. Similar damage is evident in other areas including Azad Nagar, Kogti Road, Madina Colony, Mohiddin Street, Kargedde, Bundar Road, and Dongarpalli Road, exacerbating difficulties for residents.

The deteriorating road conditions have reached a critical point where even school vehicles are unable to navigate, impacting the daily commute of school children and students.

Local residents are voicing their concerns and urging public representatives, municipal officials, and panchayat members to prioritize the restoration and maintenance of essential infrastructure like roads. They emphasize the importance of ensuring basic facilities are accessible to all residents, especially during adverse weather conditions.
