Sirsi: Officials from the Banavasi Forest Zone arrested Dyamanna from Soraba taluk and Srikanta Nayka from Hebbatti village in Sirsi on Thursday. They are charged with illegally transporting six turtles to the Badanagoda pond within the taluk.
The accused allegedly captured a turtle near Badanagoda and transported it to Surangi. Tragically, officials reported that two turtles were killed and cooked during this incident.
