In a shocking incident near Gangavati, Karnataka, 36-year-old Mujibur Rehman from Bhatkal Hanifabad was brutally assaulted after boarding a bus from Hyderabad to Mangalore on Sunday evening. The assault began when Mujib, suffering from fever, requested a tablet from the bus conductor, only to be attacked by co-passengers upon revealing his Muslim identity and hometown.

According to Mujeeb, the assault continued with support allegedly from the bus driver and conductor, forcing him to escape and face further violence from locals in Gangavati. Severely injured, Mujeeb received help from local Muslims before reaching Bhatkal Government Hospital, where his injuries, including severe beating marks, were documented.

The incident sparked widespread outrage, leading to protests demanding justice and police action against the culprits. Anger intensified when the bus involved was allowed to continue its journey without investigation, prompting allegations of police negligence and corruption.
