VIJAYAPURA: Several homes in the Vijayapura district flooded as a result of severe rainfall and a lightning strike that killed animals. Authorities stated that at 12:30 am, lightning killed cattle owned by Shivayogi Bhimashya Hosamani of Masali BK village in Indi Taluk.
In the meantime, at one in the morning, persistent rain caused buildings close to the bus stop in Boragi village, Sindagi Taluk, to flood, causing damage to stored agricultural goods such wheat and jowar.
The impacted locations have been examined by officials. Houses in the villages of Baratagi, Hoovinahalli, and Siddhanatha were also reported to have some damage. Rain was reported in the Bagalkot district, causing traffic disruptions on the Hungund-Karadi road and affecting Bagalkot, Hungund, Ilkal, Badami, and Bilagi.
In Dakshina Kannada district, heavy rains on Monday evening caused flooding in a few shops in Puttur. There was also a lot of rain in the North Karnataka districts of Yadgiri, Bidar, and Kalaburgai.
