A tragic road accident near Hegadihala Cross on the outskirts of Ukkali village in Vijayapura district claimed the lives of three individuals and left another severely injured.

The deceased have been identified as Bheerappa Godekar (30), Hanamantha Kadlimatti (25), and Yamanappa Natikar (19), all residents of Uthnal village. The injured passenger, Umesh Bhajantri (20), has been admitted to a private hospital and is currently undergoing treatment.

Preliminary reports suggest that the mishap occurred after the driver lost control of the car, causing it to veer off the road and collide forcefully with a tree.

Vijayapura Rural Police rushed to the spot and conducted an inspection of the crash site. Further investigation is underway to determine if any mechanical failure or speeding was involved.
