At The Times of India’s Shevolution event on Thursday, a powerful panel of women discussed the role of women as changemakers in various spheres such as education, business, and society. The discussion explored the challenges and opportunities women face today while empowering future generations of female leaders. The panel included influential figures like Ira Trivedi, a yoga expert and author; Dr. Ishi Khosla, founder of Whole Foods India and the Celiac Society of India; and Sanchita Mukherjee, a business economist and managing partner.
Ira Trivedi addressed the difficulties women face as leaders, noting that the shadows of patriarchy still linger. However, she emphasized that women often make better leaders due to their empathy and ability to connect with people. She mentioned the rise of female leaders like the President, breaking long-standing gender barriers and showcasing the growing influence of women in top positions.
Dr. Ishi Khosla highlighted women’s inherent strength, resilience, and intelligence. She shared her belief that society often undermines women’s capabilities, especially in male-dominated fields like finance or management. She encouraged women to recognize their worth and prioritize self-care. “We can handle anything,” she affirmed, urging women to embrace their power.
Sanchita Mukherjee, with years of experience in the financial sector, spoke about how independence plays a crucial role in leadership. “The day you start paying your own bills, you take control of your life,” she remarked, encouraging women to take charge of both their finances and their futures.
