Dubai: Mohammed Adil Khan, an Indian architect working in Dubai, has become the first winner of a new mega prize in the UAE. He will receive more than Rs 5.5 lakh per month for the next 25 years, as reported by the Gulf News, a daily English language newspaper.
Khan, who works as an interior design consultant for a real estate company in Dubai, expressed his gratitude for the win, which comes at a crucial time for him. Being the sole breadwinner for his family, including supporting his late brother’s family, he values the additional financial support.
Hailing from the village of Azamgarh in Lucknow, approximately 800km from New Delhi, Khan had his share of challenges during his upbringing, motivating him to bring positive change to his community.
With the support of his well-off relatives, Khan pursued higher education and, through sheer determination and hard work, achieved his dream of becoming an architect. His professional journey led him to Dubai in 2018.
Reflecting on the loss of his brother, who was the primary source of income for their extended family back home, Khan acknowledged the responsibilities that came with it, making life challenging for him and his family.
Khan also expressed his desire to be united with his family in the UAE after losing his brother, but financial constraints made it impractical.
When Khan learned about his win, he was pleasantly surprised, and his family had a hard time believing it initially, urging him to verify the news for its authenticity.
Paul Chader, Head of Marketing at Tycheros, the organizer of Emirates Draw, celebrated the announcement of the first FAST 5 winner within eight weeks of its launch. He explained that the term “FAST 5” denotes the quickest way to become a multi-millionaire. The staggered payments were designed to ensure a consistent payout for the winner over the next 25 years.
