Celebrated Nigerian chef Hilda Baci has added yet another milestone to her remarkable culinary journey, securing a new Guinness World Records title for the world’s largest serving of rice. The recognition makes her a three-time Guinness World Records holder.

One cookout, two global records

The latest record is linked to Baci’s monumental Nigerian-style jollof rice cookout held in September 2025. While the feat was initially certified as the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, Guinness World Records later confirmed that the same attempt also qualified as the largest serving of rice overall.

The confirmation was formally communicated to Baci on January 20, 2026. An email from Andrew Fanning, Head of Client Partnering at Guinness World Records, congratulated her on achieving two records through a single attempt, declaring her “Officially Amazing” once again.

Inside the record-breaking feat

During the September 2025 cookout, Baci and her team prepared an enormous 8,780 kilograms of jollof rice—equivalent to over 19,356 pounds. Following the cooking marathon, more than 16,600 portions were distributed to local communities, blending record-breaking ambition with social impact.

Baci later shared that she discovered the second record unexpectedly while checking her emails during her usual morning routine, describing the moment as both shocking and joyful.

A growing list of achievements

Hilda Baci first entered the Guinness World Records in May 2023 with her internationally acclaimed longest cooking marathon by an individual. Her second title came in September 2025 for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice. The latest recognition now elevates her to three-time record holder status.

Spotlight on Nigerian cuisine

Beyond personal accolades, the achievement has further amplified global attention on jollof rice—a culturally significant West African dish. Through her records, Baci continues to position Nigerian cuisine firmly on the world stage.
