A 32-year-old Indian student, Chiranjeevi Panguluri, tragically lost his life in a road accident in Leicestershire, eastern England, on Tuesday morning. Panguluri was a passenger in a grey Mazda 3 Tamura when the vehicle left the road and crashed into a ditch. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three other passengers, including two men and one woman, along with the driver, sustained serious injuries and were taken to a hospital. The two male passengers’ injuries are not life-threatening, though the situation remains critical for others involved.
The Leicestershire Police arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released on bail. Authorities are seeking witnesses, particularly those who may have captured the incident on dashcams, to assist in the ongoing investigation.
All individuals involved in the crash are reported to be from Andhra Pradesh, and the incident has deeply affected the Indian community in the UK.
This tragic accident follows another recent case involving the death of 24-year-old Indian woman Harshita Brella, whose family has raised concerns about a possible dowry dispute linked to her death in the UK earlier this year. Investigations are still ongoing.
