A video of an Indian student in Tehran urgently appealing for evacuation has surfaced online after a fresh wave of US-backed Israeli strikes hit multiple locations across Iran, escalating tensions in the Middle East.
In the video, the student is heard saying that the situation is “getting worse” and that uncertainty prevails. “We request for evacuation as soon as possible. Please do not wait for the situation to get worse. Just get us out of here as soon as possible,” she said, urging the Government of India and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to act swiftly.
Strikes intensify regional conflict
The strikes reportedly targeted several sites in Tehran, with explosions also reported in other cities. US President Donald Trump confirmed that “major combat operations” had begun following Israeli missile attacks. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the joint action as aimed at removing what he termed an “existential threat.”
Iranian officials have warned of a “crushing” response. Reports suggest that the first apparent strike occurred near offices associated with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Explosions were also reported in parts of Syria and Lebanon.
Indian Embassy issues advisory
The Embassy of India, Tehran has issued an urgent advisory, urging Indian nationals to remain indoors, avoid unnecessary movement and stay vigilant. Emergency contact numbers have been shared for assistance.
The advisory emphasised monitoring official updates and awaiting further instructions amid the evolving security situation.
With diplomatic efforts strained over Iran’s nuclear programme and regional tensions rising, Indian authorities are closely monitoring developments as students and expatriates seek clarity on possible evacuation measures.
