Tens of thousands of people are set to attend the funeral of Hezbollah’s late leader Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike last September. The public ceremony will take place at Beirut’s Camille Chamoun Sports City Stadium on Sunday at 1pm (11:00 GMT), with extra seating arrangements made to accommodate mourners.

Large portraits of Nasrallah and his successor Hashem Safieddine, also killed in an Israeli attack, have been displayed across south Beirut. Hezbollah official Ali Daamoush stated that 800 personalities from 65 countries will be present.

Meanwhile, Lebanese state media reported Israeli airstrikes near the border targeting Hezbollah-linked areas, despite the fragile ceasefire in place since November 27. Israel continues to maintain a military presence at five outposts in southern Lebanon.
