In a bizarre holiday twist, a man in Fall River, Massachusetts, decided to channel the spirit of Santa Claus a little too literally and got stuck in a chimney while attempting to evade police. The incident occurred when officers arrived to execute a search warrant for drug possession and sale charges.
As police began their search, two males fled the house, with one jumping from the rooftop to escape. The second suspect, Robert Langlais, attempted to hide inside the chimney, hoping to avoid capture. However, his plan backfired when he became stuck and had to call out for help. The officers, ironically the ones he was trying to escape, had to assist in pulling him out.
Langlais, 33, was later arrested and charged with possession of class drugs and multiple outstanding warrants. Emergency services were called to ensure his safety, and he was taken to a local hospital for a precautionary check-up before being transported to jail.
In a lighter tone, the police department humorously remarked on Langlais’ “Santa-antics” as they detailed the unusual arrest. Alongside him, 32-year-old Tanisha Ibay was also arrested for drug possession charges.
