The fire erupted off Sullivan Lane shortly after 9 pm on Tuesday, June 11. Sparks police have reported several accidents in the vicinity due to curious onlookers, as relayed by News4. Approximately 35 acres have been consumed by the fire, according to the outlet.

 

Assisting in the firefighting efforts are various agencies, including the Sparks Fire Department and the Bureau of Land Management. Sparks Firefighters, in a Facebook update, noted the collaborative efforts with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and Reno Fire Department in tackling another brush fire near Hug High School along Sullivan Lane. They advised the public to steer clear of the area and be mindful of emergency responders en route to the incident.

In a subsequent update shared in the comments section, evacuation orders have been issued. Affected individuals are directed to Senior Services at 1155 E. 9th St., as indicated by the provided link marking the evacuation zone.
