Large-scale protests erupted in Tel Aviv as thousands of demonstrators gathered at Habima Square demanding political change and criticising the government led by Benjamin Netanyahu.

Protesters reportedly blocked major sections of the area, carrying placards with slogans such as “Crime Minister” and “How much blood will be spilled?” while expressing anger over the ongoing security situation and military operations involving Hamas and Hezbollah.

The demonstrations reflected growing public frustration over continued conflict in the region and concerns that military actions have failed to fully stop militant groups from regrouping.

Among the prominent voices criticising the government was Yair Golan, leader of the Democrats, who reportedly accused Netanyahu of promoting “extreme nationalism” and worsening political divisions within Israel.

The protests have intensified speculation over instability within Netanyahu’s ruling coalition, with political observers discussing the possibility of an early snap election later this year if internal divisions deepen further.

Israel has witnessed repeated waves of anti-government protests in recent years over judicial reforms, security concerns, governance issues and the handling of regional conflicts.

The latest demonstrations underline the mounting domestic pressure facing Netanyahu amid an increasingly tense political and security climate.

Authorities maintained heavy security deployment around protest sites as crowds continued to gather in central Tel Aviv.
