A shocking incident in Turkey has drawn widespread attention after a two-year-old girl accidentally boarded an empty public bus and was unknowingly taken on a drive around town.

The child had reportedly wandered away from her family while they were shopping at a phone store on the main street in Alapli on May 7.

Toddler entered parked bus unnoticed

Security camera footage from inside the bus showed the little girl, dressed in a pink frock, climbing into the parked vehicle moments before the driver returned.

The driver, identified as Ramazan Cimen, had briefly stepped away to buy bread after arriving from the nearby coastal town of Eregli.

Unaware that the toddler had entered the bus and moved to the back seat, he resumed his route through the city.

Driver heard child crying during journey

A short while later, the driver reportedly heard a child crying from the rear side of the bus. Shocked to discover the little girl alone inside, he immediately stopped the vehicle and went to comfort her.

Cimen carried the child to the front seat and alerted the bus company authorities, who then contacted emergency services.

Police had already begun searching for the toddler after her distressed family reported her missing.

Child safely reunited with family

Authorities later reunited the girl with her family safely, bringing relief to everyone involved.

Speaking after the incident, Cimen said he felt fortunate that the child cried and drew attention to herself.

“If she had not cried, she would have stayed on the bus until morning,” he reportedly said, urging parents to keep a close watch on children in crowded public places.

The unusual incident has reminded many of the Hollywood film Baby’s Day Out, where a toddler unexpectedly goes on an adventure alone.gly taken on a ride before the driver discovered her crying.
