Iran’s newly appointed supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei reportedly survived a deadly strike that killed his father and several family members, according to a leaked audio cited in international media reports.

Claim based on unverified audio

The report, attributed to a leaked recording, claims Mojtaba Khamenei stepped outside his residence moments before the February 28 strike, narrowly escaping death. However, the authenticity of the audio has not been independently verified.

The recording is said to have been linked to a senior official from the office of the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and allegedly describes details of the attack during a meeting held in Tehran.

Narrow escape reported

According to the account, the strike hit the compound at around 9:32 am local time in what has been described as a coordinated attack targeting Iran’s top leadership.

Mojtaba Khamenei reportedly sustained only minor injuries, while several members of his family, including his wife and son, were killed in the blast.

Multiple casualties in compound

The report further claims that the strike caused extensive destruction within the compound, resulting in the deaths of senior figures associated with Iran’s leadership.

Other family members present at the site were said to have either been killed or narrowly escaped, though official confirmation remains limited.

No independent confirmation

Authorities have not publicly confirmed the details described in the leaked recording. Independent verification of the claims, including the exact sequence of events and casualties, remains unavailable.

Tensions remain high

The reported incident comes amid escalating tensions in the region, with ongoing conflict and military actions raising concerns about leadership stability and regional security.

Experts caution against drawing firm conclusions until verified information emerges, noting the challenges of confirming details in conflict situations.
