Moscow: A four-day India Day festival will bring Indian and Russian communities together in Moscow from August 20 to 23, celebrating culture, traditions and the longstanding friendship between the two countries.
A colourful celebration of Indian culture
Held at Gostiny Dvor under the theme “Unity of Cultures – Friendship of Peoples”, the festival will feature around 20 special zones dedicated to different aspects of Indian life and heritage.
Visitors will be able to explore yoga, chess, Indian weddings, dance and Ayurveda. Around 75 yoga schools from across Russia are expected to participate, while more than 200 Indian and Russian dancers will present performances highlighting the diversity of Indian dance traditions.
Indian cuisine will also take centre stage, with cooking masterclasses, restaurants and shops offering traditional dishes and culinary products.
Culture meets business cooperation
The celebrations will coincide with the BRICS Pre-Summit Business Forum at Gostiny Dvor on August 20. Representatives from businesses, government institutions and financial organisations are expected to discuss opportunities for cooperation within BRICS.
Key areas include trade and investment, regional partnerships, innovation, technology, logistics and tourism. The forum will also examine how cultural diplomacy can support stronger economic and people-to-people connections.
Strengthening India-Russia friendship
The festival comes amid continued cultural and economic engagement between India and Russia. Organisers hope the event will provide visitors with a deeper understanding of Indian heritage while creating opportunities for businesses and institutions to build new networks.
The TV BRICS International Media Network will serve as the festival’s international television partner, supporting coverage of the cultural and business programmes.
