Pakistan’s security forces have killed 52 militants, most linked to the Taliban, in separate operations across multiple provinces over the last 24 hours, officials said.

The operations were conducted across Pakistan, including Punjab, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to military and police sources.

Punjab operation foils planned attacks

The Counter Terrorism Department said six militants were killed in an operation in Mianwali district after intelligence inputs suggested they were planning attacks on law enforcement agencies.

Officials said militants opened fire when teams approached, triggering a gun battle. Eight suspects reportedly managed to escape. Security forces recovered weapons, explosives, a suicide jacket, submachine guns, grenades and ammunition.

Major militant casualties in Balochistan raids

Pakistan Army said 41 militants were killed in two intelligence-based operations in Balochistan. In Harnai district, security forces killed 30 militants during an exchange of fire at a suspected hideout.

Another operation in Panjgur district led to the killing of 11 militants. Authorities also recovered weapons and cash reportedly linked to a December 2025 bank robbery.

TTP militants killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa clash

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, five members of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan were killed, including a commander, during a joint operation in Bannu district.

The operation reportedly lasted nearly 10 hours and involved drone surveillance and quadcopter strikes. Police said three civilians were also killed and several others injured during the exchange.

Officials said drone and helicopter surveillance continues to track militants who may have escaped the operations.

Security sources said Mianwali remains vulnerable due to infiltration routes through adjoining tribal belt areas.
