Pierce Brosnan, celebrated for his performances in movies such as James Bond and Mamma Mia, has undergone a remarkable transformation for an enigmatic new role. The 70-year-old actor, currently filming for a sports-themed movie, left fans astonished as photos emerged from the sets, showcasing a drastic change in his appearance.
With his new look featuring more pronounced wrinkles and a frail demeanor, Brosnan sported an Adidas tracksuit, dark glasses, and his trademark white hair, now thinning. It appears that the veteran actor is gearing up for a significant project.
This striking transformation is in preparation for Brosnan’s upcoming film “Giant,” centered around the life of boxing legend Prince Naseem Hamed. The biopic delves into Hamed’s journey to stardom, highlighting the challenges he faced, including racism and Islamophobia in 1990s UK. Amir El-Masry, known for his role in Netflix’s “The Crown,” will portray the boxer, while Brosnan takes on the role of Brendan Ingle, a former Irish steelworker turned boxing trainer. Ingle played a pivotal role in guiding Naseem during his early career.
Beyond boxing and the struggle against prejudice, “Giant” explores the profound friendship between the world champion boxer and his late mentor, Ingle, who passed away in 2018 at the age of 77. Directed by Owan Athale, known for “Gangs of London,” the biopic is set against the backdrop of Sheffield, Ingle’s hometown. The film also boasts Sylvester Stallone as one of its executive producers.
According to Deadline’s official synopsis, “Giant” tells the true story of Hamed’s humble origins in Sheffield’s gritty streets and his remarkable journey under Ingle’s mentorship, from a steel industry worker to a boxing sensation.
