Plane crashes into cars on Texas highway, leaving 4 injured

A dramatic scene unfolded on a South Texas highway on Wednesday afternoon when a small twin-engine propeller plane made an emergency landing, crashing into three vehicles before splitting in two. The incident took place on State Highway Loop 463 in Victoria, Texas, around 3 p.m., sending debris across the busy roadway.

According to authorities, the crash left four people injured. Three of the victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while the fourth person was transported to a different facility for further medical care. The aircraft had been flying at a low altitude before it made the emergency landing on the highway, striking several cars along the way. Social media footage captured the plane as it descended just above the road before it collided with the vehicles.

Deputy Police Chief Eline Moya expressed relief that the situation wasn’t worse, acknowledging that incidents like these are rare. “We are glad that it wasn’t worse than what it is. This is not something we see every day,” Moya said. Emergency responders arrived promptly, tending to the injured and clearing the wreckage, though traffic was severely disrupted. Drivers were advised to avoid the area while authorities investigate the cause of the crash.

Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with one observer stating it was “terrifying” to watch the plane’s descent. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is expected to further investigate the crash.
