A 36-year-old pregnant mother of two was killed after being struck by a car while riding a bicycle with her family in the greater Los Angeles area, in a tragedy that has left two young children orphaned and sparked an outpouring of grief online.

Family ride ends in heartbreak

The woman, identified as Regan Cole-Graham, was riding a bike alongside her husband Matt Graham and their two young sons when she was allegedly hit by a vehicle on the night of January 31. Regan, who was seven months pregnant at the time, died at the scene, according to information shared by the family.

Her unborn baby girl was rushed to UCLA Children’s Hospital and admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit. Despite medical efforts, the baby later died, the family said.

Tributes pour in for ‘devoted mother’

In a GoFundMe appeal verified by GoFundMe, family members described Regan as a “loving and devoted wife” and a “fierce and joyful mother”. The fundraiser aims to cover funeral expenses and support Matt Graham as he raises their children alone.

Photos shared on the page show the couple with their sons at the beach, wedding memories, and moments from family life, highlighting the suddenness of the loss.

Friends, journalists amplify appeal

Independent journalist Chris Cillizza shared the fundraiser on social media, describing Matt Graham as a personal friend and calling the incident “a tragedy that changed a family’s life in two days”.

By February 2, the fundraiser had crossed $1 lakh USD, reflecting widespread public support and sympathy.
