American television host Savannah Guthrie and her family have issued a renewed and emotional appeal for the safe return of her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, who is suspected to have been kidnapped from her home in Arizona.

In a video plea released on Saturday, Guthrie and her siblings addressed the suspected kidnappers directly, saying they were willing to pay a ransom to have their mother returned safely. “We received your message and we understand. We beg you now to return our mother to us,” the family said, adding that her safe return was “everything” to them.

Investigation enters critical phase

According to US authorities, Nancy Guthrie was taken from her home near Tucson, Arizona, last weekend. The case has now entered its seventh day, with investigators confirming the discovery of physical evidence suggesting a struggle. Blood found on the front porch of the house was confirmed through DNA testing to belong to Nancy.

Officials also revealed that the home’s doorbell camera had been disconnected. Although motion was detected shortly after, the lack of an active subscription meant no video footage could be retrieved, which investigators described as a significant setback.

Ransom messages under scrutiny

Authorities said a series of ransom-related messages were sent to multiple media outlets, including a local television station. Some messages reportedly referenced personal details such as Nancy’s Apple Watch and features of her property, raising concerns about their credibility.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said they are actively examining the communications but have not yet confirmed their authenticity.

Health concerns heighten urgency

Officials have expressed serious concern over Nancy Guthrie’s health. She reportedly requires daily medication for heart disease and high blood pressure and has a pacemaker. Sheriff Chris Nanos said her condition could be “worsening day by day” if she is being held without medical care.

Despite national attention, including public comments from Donald Trump, no suspects have been identified so far, and her whereabouts remain unknown. Authorities say search efforts are continuing at full scale.
