Singapore Airlines To Reward Employees With 8 Months Of Salary As Bonus

Singapore Airlines

Singapore Airlines has recently announced a substantial bonus for its employees, amounting to eight months of salary, as reported by CNN. This decision follows the airline’s impressive financial performance, achieving a record net profit of $1.98 billion for the fiscal year 2023-2024. The company attributed this success to robust demand for air travel, particularly with the full reopening of borders in North Asia, including China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Taiwan, after the pandemic.

The airline was also honored as the best in the world at the Skytrax World Airline Awards last year, marking its sixth time receiving this top accolade in the award’s 23-year history.

Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong credited the airline’s team for their dedication and sacrifices, which positioned the airline well for the travel industry’s recovery. He emphasized that their efforts enabled the company to emerge stronger and more resilient from the pandemic.

Similarly, the Emirates Group recently reported record profits and announced bonuses equivalent to 20 weeks of salary for its employees, to be paid with their May salaries. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group, expressed his gratitude to the staff in an email, lauding their “heroic efforts” and dedication, which he said deserved every dirham of the profit share.

In the past year, both Emirates and Dnata have seen significant improvements in profit and sales. The group’s workforce grew by 10%, reaching a record 112,406 employees from over 170 nationalities, spread across 84 countries.
