In a disturbing case of crime within a family, a 21-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly robbing his own father at gunpoint with the help of two accomplices.

Armed robbery inside home

According to police, the accused, identified as Tavleen, entered his father’s house along with two associates and threatened him using a pistol. To create fear, he allegedly fired multiple rounds in the air before fleeing with ₹10 lakh in cash.

The incident triggered panic, following which a PCR call was made and police rushed to the spot to begin an investigation.

CCTV leads to breakthrough

Investigators relied on CCTV footage from the area, which captured the accused leaving the scene. A crucial lead emerged when one of the suspects was seen removing his mask near Anand Vihar, enabling identification.

The victim later confirmed that the main accused was his own son, prompting police to intensify the search.

Arrests and recovery

Tavleen was arrested from Mukherjee Nagar in Delhi, while his two accomplices—who had fled to Lucknow—were later apprehended near a toll plaza. Police said the duo are residents of Bihar and had previously worked at the victim’s factory.

Authorities confirmed that the entire stolen amount of ₹10 lakh has been recovered.

Motive and investigation

During interrogation, the accused revealed that he had prior knowledge of his father handling a large sum of money and used this information to plan the robbery.

Police are now verifying the criminal background of the accused and probing further details related to the case.

Separate incident under probe

In another development, police in west Delhi’s Hari Nagar intercepted a case following a PCR call alleging that a girl had been killed by her family and her body was being taken for burial.

The body has been sent for post-mortem, and family members are being questioned. Officials said further action will depend on the findings of the investigation.
