Wayne Osmond, a founding member of the legendary Osmonds, has passed away at the age of 73 in Salt Lake City, following a massive stroke. His brother, Donny Osmond, shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, describing Wayne as an “optimist” and recalling his enduring positivity throughout his life.
The Osmonds achieved fame in the 1970s with chart-topping hits like “One Bad Apple” and “Yo-Yo.” Wayne, the fourth oldest of nine siblings, was raised in a Mormon household in Utah. The family began their musical journey in the 1950s as a barbershop quartet before skyrocketing to stardom in the 1970s. While Donny became the breakout star of the group, the Osmonds became one of the most celebrated acts of the time, often compared to the Jackson 5.
In the 1980s, Wayne reunited with his brothers for a successful country music venture. He married Kathlyn White in 1974, and together, they raised five children.
Wayne Osmond’s passing marks the end of an era for the Osmonds, with fans and family mourning the loss of a talented musician and a beloved brother.
