Prince William and Kate Middleton have faced a difficult year, particularly due to Kate’s cancer treatment, but they are finding strength as a family this holiday season. On Thursday, the royal couple shared their annual Christmas card on social media, a tradition they’ve kept since their marriage in 2012.

The festive card, shared via Instagram, shows a family photo featuring the Prince and Princess of Wales alongside their three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The video accompanying the photo features the card placed on a table by a Christmas tree, with digital snow gently falling around it. The message inside the card reads: “Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year.”

While the family usually shares a new photo for the card each year, this time they chose a pre-existing image from a video released in September, when Kate announced the end of her chemotherapy treatment. “Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long, and I must continue to take each day as it comes,” Kate shared in the emotional video.

Since her treatment, Kate has gradually resumed public duties, including hosting the “Together at Christmas” concert earlier this month. Prince William has also been candid about the family’s struggles, describing the past year as one of the hardest of his life.
