Yadgiri: Former minister CT Ravi expressed concern over the rising crime incidents in the state, warning that if the trend persists, Karnataka could resemble Bihar from a few decades ago.
Addressing reporters on Wednesday, Ravi noted that in the last six months, the crime rate has surged to unprecedented levels, a fact corroborated by the National Crime Bureau.
He alleged that the Congress government in the state has discontinued the Rs 4,000 financial aid to farmers under the Kisan Samman Scheme, a benefit previously provided by the state. Additionally, he criticized the sluggish progress of their flagship program, Gruha Laxmi, noting that women are not receiving the promised Rs 2,000 monthly.
Furthermore, Ravi highlighted the soaring prices of sowing seeds, pointing out the significant increase. Under the Ganga Kalyan scheme, beneficiaries previously only had to pay Rs 30,000 for a borewell connection, but now they are burdened with various additional charges, including those for borewell digging.
Ravi accused the Congress government of subjecting the people of the state to hardship and cited recent scandals in the ST Welfare Corporation. He asserted, “This government is embroiled in scams, utilizing funds for elections, essentially turning the government into an ATM for the party.”
He urged graduates from North East constituencies not to vote for Congress but to support BJP in the council election, emphasizing that the latter understands and addresses the concerns of graduates.
