BENGALURU: The Akshaya Patra Foundation has partnered with the Kerala government to provide crucial relief to those affected by the recent landslides in Wayanad. On Tuesday, the NGO announced that it has distributed 1,000 grocery kits in the disaster-stricken areas and is preparing to deliver an additional 9,000 kits in the coming days.
Each grocery kit is designed to meet essential needs and includes items such as boiled rice, wheat flour, horse gram, edible oil, ‘sambar’ powder, turmeric powder, sugar, salt, biscuits, and ORS packets. The foundation aims to support the local community by facilitating the distribution of over 500,000 meals through these kits.
The initiative is part of a broader effort by the Akshaya Patra Foundation to assist those impacted by the severe floods and landslides in Wayanad. By providing these grocery kits, the organization hopes to alleviate some of the hardships faced by residents in the wake of this natural disaster.
The foundation’s extensive relief operation underscores its commitment to supporting disaster-affected communities and ensuring they have access to essential supplies during critical times.
