New Delhi: BMW Motorrad India has launched the new F 450 GS Sport variant at an ex-showroom price of ₹5.90 lakh, expanding its adventure motorcycle range. The new variant sits between the Exclusive and GS Trophy versions, offering upgraded suspension, additional riding technology and exclusive styling.
The motorcycle retains the same engine as the other F 450 GS variants but receives several equipment upgrades aimed at improving its performance on roads and off-road terrain.
BMW F 450 GS Sport: What’s new?
The biggest highlight of the new Sport variant is its Sport Suspension, designed to provide improved control and handling, particularly on uneven surfaces and off-road trails.
It also gets BMW’s Gear Shift Assistant Pro, which enables clutchless gear changes, and Riding Modes Pro. The latter introduces an additional Enduro Pro riding mode, giving riders more flexibility when navigating challenging terrain.
In terms of styling, the F 450 GS Sport comes in an exclusive Racing Red colour scheme. Other design highlights include black handguards, off-road footpegs and a clear Rallye windscreen.
The motorcycle also gets a plastic engine guard as standard, adding protection during off-road riding.
Engine and performance
Powering the BMW F 450 GS Sport is a 420cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine producing 48 bhp and 43 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
BMW has not made any mechanical changes to the engine for the new Sport variant. It retains the same powertrain offered with the other models in the F 450 GS range.
The motorcycle is built around a chassis developed for both road and off-road use, with an upright riding position and adventure-focused ergonomics.
Features and equipment
The F 450 GS Sport retains the model’s signature X-shaped full-LED headlamp and adventure-style front beak. It also features a 6.5-inch TFT display with a multi-controller for accessing riding information and connectivity functions.
Other rider-assistance features available in the F 450 GS range include:
- ABS Pro
- Dynamic Traction Control
- Dynamic Brake Control
- Engine Drag Control
- Multiple riding modes
The motorcycle’s electronic systems are designed to support riders across different road and terrain conditions.
BMW F 450 GS Sport price and variants
With the launch of the Sport version, the BMW F 450 GS is now available in four variants: Base, Exclusive, Sport and GS Trophy.
The new Sport variant is priced at ₹5.90 lakh (ex-showroom), making it ₹25,000 more affordable than the top-spec GS Trophy version.
The key difference between the Sport and GS Trophy variants is the clutch system and certain equipment. While the GS Trophy gets BMW’s Easy Ride Clutch, the Sport variant uses a conventional clutch along with Gear Shift Assistant Pro. The Trophy also gets an aluminium engine guard and tinted Rallye windscreen, while the Sport receives a plastic engine guard and clear windscreen.
Warranty and ownership benefits
BMW India Financial Services is offering financing options for the F 450 GS range, with monthly instalments starting at ₹9,999, subject to the applicable terms.
The motorcycle comes with a standard three-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty. Customers can also opt for extended warranty coverage for the fourth and fifth years. BMW Motorrad additionally offers 24×7 roadside assistance.
With the new Sport variant, BMW Motorrad is expanding the F 450 GS range for riders looking for additional off-road-focused equipment without opting for the top-spec GS Trophy version.
