New Delhi: BMW Motorrad has unveiled three exclusive special editions of its high-performance motorcycles to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the legendary Nürburgring race track in Germany. The BMW M 1000 RR, M 1000 R and M 1000 XR will be offered as limited-run “100 Jahre Nürburgring” editions, with production restricted to just 100 units of each model worldwide.
The three motorcycles combine BMW’s M performance technology with distinctive Nürburgring-themed styling and special equipment. While the bikes retain their respective performance-focused mechanical packages, the anniversary editions receive unique paintwork and exclusive details designed to make them collector-oriented motorcycles.
BMW celebrates Nürburgring’s 100-year milestone
The special editions have been created in collaboration with BMW M as part of the celebrations marking a century of the Nürburgring.
All three motorcycles feature an exclusive Nürburgring Green paint finish developed specifically for the anniversary programme. The fuel tank carries a silhouette of the Nürburgring Nordschleife, while the airbox cover gets a special anniversary design.
Adding to their exclusivity, each motorcycle carries an individual “one of 100” marking, highlighting its position in the limited production run.
The motorcycles also feature black rear frames and swingarms, along with carbon wheels finished with Nürburgring Green accent stripes. The seats feature an Alcantara-style finish and “100” embroidery, giving the bikes a distinctive appearance compared with their standard counterparts.
M 1000 RR is the track-focused flagship
Among the three motorcycles, the M 1000 RR Nürburgring edition is positioned as the most track-focused model.
It is powered by a 999cc inline-four engine and has been developed around BMW’s experience in the World Superbike Championship and FIM Endurance World Championship. Its aerodynamic package is designed to improve high-speed stability and generate additional downforce.
The motorcycle also comes with the M Cover kit as standard, reinforcing its track-oriented character. The combination of aerodynamic components, high-performance hardware and the exclusive anniversary treatment makes the M 1000 RR particularly appealing to riders looking for a limited-production superbike.
BMW’s M 1000 RR is already positioned at the top end of the company’s performance motorcycle portfolio, and the Nürburgring edition adds a collector-focused layer to that package.
M 1000 R gets exclusive anniversary treatment
The BMW M 1000 R, the naked motorcycle in the trio, also receives the full Nürburgring anniversary treatment.
The model combines a high-performance engine with a race-developed chassis and sophisticated electronic rider assistance systems. Unlike the fully faired M 1000 RR, the M 1000 R offers a more exposed streetfighter-style design while retaining BMW’s focus on performance.
The special edition also comes with the M Cover kit as standard, allowing owners to prepare the motorcycle for track-day use.
The exclusive green paint, anniversary graphics, carbon wheels and individually numbered production status distinguish the M 1000 R from the regular motorcycle.
M 1000 XR combines performance and touring
The third model in the anniversary collection is the BMW M 1000 XR.
Unlike the M 1000 RR and M 1000 R, the M 1000 XR combines high-performance capability with sport-touring characteristics. BMW positions the motorcycle as a machine capable of covering long distances while retaining the performance needed for demanding roads and race tracks.
The model is particularly suited to riders who want a motorcycle capable of combining touring comfort with M-series performance. BMW says the motorcycle is also capable of tackling demanding circuits such as the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
The anniversary edition gives the M 1000 XR the same exclusive Nürburgring Green finish and special detailing as the other two motorcycles.
Special equipment included as standard
BMW has added a number of exclusive accessories and features to the anniversary editions.
All three motorcycles come with an M Track package as standard, along with a Nürburgring anniversary motorcycle mat and a rear assembly stand with a mounting pin. Each motorcycle will also be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
The M 1000 RR and M 1000 R additionally receive the M Cover kit as standard.
These additions are intended to make the motorcycles more than cosmetic special editions, while also reinforcing their connection with BMW’s motorsport-focused M division.
Only 100 units of each model
Exclusivity is a major part of the Nürburgring editions. BMW Motorrad will produce only 100 units of each model worldwide.
That means the M 1000 RR, M 1000 R and M 1000 XR will each have their own 100-unit production run rather than the company producing 100 motorcycles across all three models.
The limited numbers, anniversary connection and individually marked motorcycles are expected to make the editions particularly attractive to collectors and BMW M enthusiasts.
Orders and deliveries
BMW Motorrad is expected to open orders for the three limited editions in October 2026. Deliveries are planned to begin from late 2027. The company has not yet announced pricing for the special editions.
BMW has also not confirmed whether any of the Nürburgring editions will be offered in India. Therefore, Indian buyers will have to wait for an official announcement before availability in the country can be confirmed.
BMW’s M motorcycle portfolio gets a collector edition
The “100 Jahre Nürburgring” editions give BMW Motorrad an opportunity to combine its M performance technology with the heritage of one of the world’s most famous race circuits.
While the M 1000 RR focuses heavily on track performance, the M 1000 R brings the same high-performance philosophy to a naked motorcycle, and the M 1000 XR adds long-distance capability to the package.
With just 100 units of each model, special Nürburgring styling, exclusive equipment and individual production markings, the three motorcycles are positioned as highly limited additions to BMW Motorrad’s performance range.
For now, the biggest questions for enthusiasts will be the final prices and whether BMW decides to allocate any of the 300 motorcycles produced across the three models to the Indian market.
