Milan: Hero MotoCorp has unveiled the new Xpulse 450 adventure motorcycle at EICMA 2026, introducing a newly developed 421cc liquid-cooled engine, adjustable suspension and smartphone connectivity features, including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Positioned as the brand’s new flagship adventure motorcycle, the Xpulse 450 marks a major step up from the Xpulse 210. Developed with inputs from Hero MotoSports Team Rally, the motorcycle is designed to offer improved performance, off-road capability and touring comfort.

The company has confirmed that the motorcycle will reach international markets first, followed by India. However, its pricing and official India launch timeline have not yet been announced.

Hero Xpulse 450 gets a new 421cc engine

The biggest highlight of the new Xpulse 450 is its newly developed 421cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The motor produces 46.7hp at 9,100rpm and 38Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm.

The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and comes with a slip-and-assist clutch as standard. These specifications place the Xpulse 450 considerably above the smaller Xpulse 210 in terms of performance.

For comparison, the Xpulse 210 produces 24.6hp and 20.7Nm from its 210cc liquid-cooled engine. The larger engine is expected to offer improved highway performance while retaining the off-road characteristics of the Xpulse range.

Adjustable suspension for off-road riding

Hero has equipped the Xpulse 450 with a long-travel suspension setup intended to handle different riding conditions.

At the front, the motorcycle gets a 43mm KYB cartridge-type upside-down fork with 225mm of travel. The suspension offers 22-step adjustment for compression and rebound damping, allowing riders to fine-tune the setup according to the terrain.

The front suspension travel is 15mm longer than that of the Xpulse 210. While the company has not disclosed all the rear suspension specifications, the motorcycle is expected to feature an adjustable rear monoshock.

The bike also gets wire-spoke wheels designed for tubeless tyres. The visible setup appears to include a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, although the complete wheel and tyre specifications are yet to be confirmed.

Android Auto and Apple CarPlay take centre stage

One of the most notable features of the Xpulse 450 is its technology package. The motorcycle gets a 7-inch TFT instrument display with integrated Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

This allows riders to access compatible smartphone functions through the motorcycle’s display, bringing connected-device technology to the adventure motorcycle segment.

Hero is highlighting this integration as a segment-first feature. The motorcycle also gets four ride modes and traction control, adding to its electronic equipment package.

Developed with Hero MotoSports Team Rally inputs

The Xpulse 450 has been developed with direct inputs from Hero MotoSports Team Rally. The company’s rally experience has influenced the motorcycle’s adventure-focused engineering and suspension setup.

The long-travel front suspension and adjustable damping are intended to help riders adapt the motorcycle to varying road and off-road conditions.

The new model will sit above the Xpulse 210 in Hero’s adventure motorcycle range, becoming the manufacturer’s flagship offering in this category.

India launch and expected rivals

Hero MotoCorp has not revealed the price or confirmed an India launch date for the Xpulse 450. The manufacturer has stated that the motorcycle will be introduced in international markets first, with India expected to follow.

When launched in India, the Xpulse 450 will compete with motorcycles such as the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure.

With its 421cc engine, long-travel adjustable suspension and smartphone connectivity, the new adventure motorcycle represents a substantial expansion of Hero’s Xpulse lineup. More details about its final specifications, pricing and India availability are expected to emerge closer to its market launch.
