Mumbai: Mahindra & Mahindra has unveiled the BE 6 SPORTEQ Formula E Freedom Edition, bringing Formula E-inspired styling and performance upgrades to its electric SUV range.
The special edition was introduced in India on Independence Day and is also being showcased alongside Mahindra Racing’s GEN4 show car at the London E-Prix.
Formula E inspiration meets electric performance
The Freedom Edition retains the BE 6’s distinctive design and race-inspired dual-screen cockpit. Its cabin features a black and Firestorm Orange theme, while subtle Tricolour-inspired accents have been added to the exterior.
The electric SUV also gets a new Acceleration Boost feature, exclusive to the Formula E Freedom Edition.
0-100 km/h in just 6.44 seconds
With Acceleration Boost activated, the BE 6 Formula E Freedom Edition can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.44 seconds, giving the road-going electric SUV a sharper performance character.
Mahindra is using the special edition to highlight the connection between its electric passenger vehicles and its Formula E racing programme.
The vehicle was also taken around the London E-Prix circuit, putting the road car on the same track used by Mahindra Racing.
A special edition with a patriotic touch
The Freedom Edition’s launch on Independence Day adds a distinctly Indian identity to the Formula E-inspired model. The Tricolour detailing complements its performance-oriented design without overwhelming the overall styling.
The unveiling also comes as Mahindra Racing prepares to showcase its next-generation GEN4 Formula E technology, reinforcing the company’s focus on electric mobility and motorsport.
The BE 6 Formula E Freedom Edition therefore combines Indian electric-car design, motorsport inspiration and stronger acceleration in a package aimed at buyers looking for something more distinctive.
