Mahindra has unveiled its first electric SUV under the ‘BE’ sub-brand, the BE 6e, with a starting price of ₹18.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Designed to set new standards in the EV market, the BE 6e boasts advanced features, impressive range options, and a focus on sustainability.

Colour Options

The BE 6e comes in eight monotone colour options, with no dual-tone schemes:

Battery and Performance

The BE 6e offers two battery pack options:

  • 59 kWh: Provides a range of 535 km (MIDC).
  • 79 kWh: Extends the range up to 682 km (MIDC).

Specifications:

  • Power: 231 PS (59 kWh) and 286 PS (79 kWh).
  • Torque: 380 Nm.
  • Drivetrain: Rear-wheel drive (RWD), with the INGLO platform capable of supporting all-wheel drive (AWD).
  • Fast charging: 175 kW capability charges 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes.

The BE 6e is equipped with premium features for comfort and entertainment:

  • Panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and ventilated front seats.
  • Augmented reality-based heads-up display (segment-first).
  • Two 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and a digital instrument cluster.
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset with 5G connectivity.
  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Safety is a priority with:

  • 7 airbags, ISOFIX mounts, and Level 2 ADAS with features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning.
  • Additional safety enhancements in higher variants include a 360-degree camera and blind-spot monitoring.

Pricing and Variants

The base variant (Pack One) with the 59 kWh battery starts at ₹18.90 lakh. Mahindra has hinted at higher-end variants with advanced features like a 1,400W Harman Kardon sound system, Dolby Atmos, and integrated lighting for the panoramic sunroof, though their prices are yet to be revealed.


Market Competition

The BE 6e competes with established EVs like the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and the upcoming Maruti eVX and Hyundai Creta EV. Its combination of competitive pricing, range, and premium features positions it as a strong contender in the growing Indian EV market.
