India’s top automaker, Maruti Suzuki, has announced a price revision across its entire lineup, effective April 8. The increase, reaching up to ₹62,000, is attributed to higher input costs, regulatory updates, rising operational expenses, and the inclusion of new features.
In a regulatory statement on Wednesday, the company emphasized that while it strives to optimize costs, some financial burden must be transferred to consumers.
The price adjustment will vary across different models. The compact SUV Fronx will see a marginal hike of ₹2,500, while the entry-level DZire Tour S will become costlier by ₹3,000. Popular multipurpose vehicles Ertiga and XL6 will witness an increase of ₹12,500. The WagonR, India’s best-selling car of 2024, will now cost ₹14,000 more, whereas the Eeco van is set to rise by ₹22,500. The highest increase applies to the Grand Vitara SUV, which will be dearer by ₹62,000.
This announcement follows Maruti Suzuki’s earlier statement regarding a 4% price hike from April. The move aims to counter rising production expenses while ensuring sustained product innovation.
