New Delhi: Audi India is set to launch the third-generation Q3 in India on October 16, 2026, bringing a substantially redesigned version of its entry-level luxury SUV to the market. The new Q3 gets a sharper exterior, a technology-focused cabin and a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system.

The new-generation Q3 will replace the second-generation model that has been sold in India for around four years. Unlike the outgoing model, the new Q3 will be locally assembled in India. Audi is expected to position it at a higher price point, with estimates placing the starting price between Rs 55 lakh and Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom). Final variant-wise prices will be announced closer to the launch.

New Audi Q3 gets sharper exterior design

The third-generation Q3 marks a significant styling departure from its predecessor.

At the front, the SUV features a broader appearance with a large octagonal grille and a new split LED headlamp arrangement. The daytime running lights sit above the main lighting elements, giving the SUV a more distinctive appearance.

The new Q3 also gets a more sculpted bonnet, redesigned bumpers and a stronger shoulder line. At the rear, the SUV features connected-looking LED lighting elements and a redesigned tailgate.

The new model is also around 40mm longer than its predecessor, according to automotive reports, potentially offering a little more presence and space. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels in the India-spec version.

The changes are intended to give the Q3 a more contemporary appearance while bringing it closer to Audi’s latest design language.

Technology-focused cabin

The interior of the new Q3 receives a substantial technology upgrade.

The dashboard features a digital driver display along with a central infotainment screen, giving the cabin a more modern and connected layout. Audi has also revised the steering wheel and other controls as part of the new-generation interior.

The equipment list is expected to include features such as a panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera and a premium Sonos sound system.

The new cabin is therefore expected to offer a significant step up in technology compared with the outgoing Q3.

2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine

The India-spec Q3 will be powered by a 2.0-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine.

The engine is expected to produce around 204hp and 320Nm of torque. It will be paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system.

Unlike some international versions of the third-generation Q3, the India-spec model is expected to be offered without diesel or hybrid powertrain options. The petrol engine and all-wheel-drive combination will form the core of the Indian line-up.

The new Q3 is expected to deliver a claimed 0-100kph acceleration time of around 7.1 seconds, although final India-specific specifications should be confirmed by Audi at launch.

Local assembly in India

Audi will locally assemble the third-generation Q3 in India, marking an important part of the model’s market strategy.

Local assembly can help luxury carmakers manage import-related costs and maintain more competitive pricing compared with fully imported models. However, the new Q3 is still expected to cost considerably more than the outgoing model.

The current Q3 is priced between around Rs 43.67 lakh and Rs 53 lakh (ex-showroom), while the new model is expected to start in the Rs 55 lakh-Rs 60 lakh range.

Audi has not yet announced the final prices, so the expected figures should not be treated as official.

Bookings already open

Audi India has already opened bookings for the new Q3 ahead of its launch.

Customers can reserve the SUV by paying a Rs 1 lakh booking amount through Audi India’s official website, the myAudi Connect app or authorised dealerships. The company is expected to announce the full variant and pricing details at the time of launch.

The advance booking programme gives buyers an opportunity to secure the new-generation SUV before deliveries begin following its October launch.

New Q3 to rival BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA

The new Audi Q3 will continue to compete in India’s entry-level luxury SUV segment.

Its key rivals include the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA, while the MINI Countryman is another model competing in the broader premium compact SUV space.

Audi is counting on the Q3’s new design, updated technology, quattro all-wheel drive and premium cabin to strengthen its position in this competitive segment.

The introduction of the third-generation model is also significant for Audi’s India portfolio as the Q3 has traditionally been one of the brand’s important entry-level products.

Launch date and what to expect

With the launch scheduled for October 16, Audi is expected to reveal the final price, variant structure and detailed India-specific equipment list at the event.

The new Q3 represents more than a cosmetic update, with major changes to its exterior design, interior technology and overall product positioning. Its local assembly could also help Audi manage the pricing challenge created by the extensive upgrades.

If the expected Rs 55 lakh-Rs 60 lakh price range is confirmed, the new Q3 will sit at a premium over its predecessor while directly targeting buyers looking for a technology-rich compact luxury SUV.

With bookings already underway, Audi’s new Q3 is set to become one of the key luxury SUV launches in India during the 2026 festive season.
