New Delhi: Renault India has reported a strong start to FY27, recording domestic wholesales of 5,413 units in April 2026—more than double the 2,602 units sold in the same month last year, reflecting a 108 per cent year-on-year growth.
Growth driven by refreshed models
The French automaker attributed the sharp rise in sales to its updated product lineup, particularly the new-generation Renault Triber and Renault Kiger, which were introduced in September 2025.
In addition, the recently launched Renault Duster has begun contributing to sales momentum. Deliveries of the model started in the latter half of April, and early customer response has been encouraging, the company said.
Consistent performance trend
Renault India noted that the April figures mark the second consecutive quarter of strong sequential growth, signalling a sustained recovery and improving market traction.
Industry observers point out that the company’s strategy of refreshing its existing models while reintroducing popular nameplates like the Duster has helped strengthen its position in the competitive Indian passenger vehicle market.
Expansion of retail network
To support rising demand, Renault India has been expanding its sales and service network across the country. The company recently opened a new ‘new’R’ retail outlet along with a workshop facility in Ranchi.
With this addition, Renault India’s total network has grown to 638 sales and service touchpoints nationwide, enhancing accessibility for customers and improving after-sales support.
Outlook
The company remains optimistic about maintaining its growth trajectory, backed by product upgrades, network expansion, and increasing customer interest in its offerings.
Conclusion
Renault India’s strong April performance highlights a positive turnaround driven by refreshed models and strategic expansion. If the current momentum continues, the automaker could further strengthen its foothold in India’s highly competitive automobile market.
