India: Tata Motors has introduced the new Aeris sedan with five variants, offering petrol and CNG powertrains along with manual and AMT gearbox options. Positioned against cars such as the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Honda Amaze, the Aeris is available from Rs 5.29 lakh ex-showroom.

The five variants of the new Tata sedan are Smart, Pure, Pure+, Creative and Accomplished. Tata has spread equipment across the range, with higher variants adding larger infotainment screens, advanced safety equipment and premium comfort features.

Tata Aeris Smart

The Smart is the entry-level variant of the Aeris but gets several key safety and convenience features as standard.

It comes with a 12.7cm digital instrument cluster, six airbags, fabric upholstery, electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and four power windows. The driver’s seat is height adjustable.

Safety equipment includes ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, rear parking sensors and speed-sensitive auto door locks.

The Smart variant also gets manual air conditioning, a tilt-adjustable steering wheel, rear headrests, a day/night inside rear-view mirror and Bluetooth audio functionality. Steering-mounted audio controls, two speakers and central locking are also included.

Tata Aeris Pure

The Pure variant adds more technology and convenience features over the entry-level Smart.

It gets a 20.32cm floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a four-speaker audio system.

Other additions include an HD reverse parking camera, rear AC vents and a 65W USB-C charging port at the front.

The Pure also gets electronic stability control with traction control, hill-hold assist and a tyre pressure monitoring system. A rear centre armrest with cup holders, follow-me-home headlamps, rear defogger and a shark-fin antenna with GPS are also part of the package.

Tata Aeris Pure+

The Pure+ variant adds further comfort and convenience equipment.

It gets a 20.03cm touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control and a front armrest with storage.

The wheel size differs depending on the fuel type. Petrol versions get 15-inch wheels, while CNG versions use 14-inch wheels.

Tata has also specified that cruise control is not available on the CNG AMT version.

Tata Aeris Creative

The Creative variant brings a significant increase in equipment and technology.

It gets a 360-degree camera with 3D views, connected LED tail lamps and LED headlamps with daytime running lights.

Comfort features include automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, passive entry and passive start, leatherette upholstery, a cooled glovebox and auto-folding ORVMs.

The variant also adds a blind-view monitor, wireless smartphone charging, a dashcam recorder and a 65W rear USB-C charging port.

Tata Aeris Accomplished

The Accomplished is the top-spec variant of the Aeris and brings the most extensive equipment list in the range.

It retains features such as the 360-degree camera, connected LED tail lamps, blind-view monitor and cooled glovebox from the Creative trim.

Additional features include ventilated leatherette front seats, a dual smartphone charging deck with wireless charging and a premium dual-tone cabin theme.

The top variant also gets a larger 26.03cm touchscreen infotainment system and a dual-tone black roof, giving it a more premium appearance.

Tata Aeris price and positioning

The Tata Aeris starts at an introductory Rs 5.29 lakh ex-showroom, while the range extends up to Rs 9.74 lakh for the top variant. The sedan competes with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Honda Amaze in India’s compact sedan segment.

The Aeris measures 3,995mm in length and has a 2,450mm wheelbase, matching the Dzire on both these dimensions. It offers a 419-litre boot, compared with the Dzire’s 382-litre capacity, according to comparison data.

The Aeris also offers features such as ventilated front seats, a cooled glovebox, rain-sensing wipers and an integrated dashcam in higher variants. The Dzire, meanwhile, offers features including an electric sunroof and has a 5-star Global NCAP rating. The Aeris had not yet been crash-tested at the time of the comparison.

Deliveries to begin in October

Tata Motors has opened bookings for the Aeris, with customer deliveries scheduled to begin from October 11, 2026. The sedan marks Tata’s renewed push in the compact sedan segment following the Tigor.

With five trims and multiple powertrain and transmission combinations, Tata has positioned the Aeris across a broad price range. The variant structure allows buyers to choose between essential equipment at the lower end and technology-focused features in the higher trims.

Conclusion

The Tata Aeris is offered in five variants — Smart, Pure, Pure+, Creative and Accomplished — with petrol and CNG options and manual or AMT transmissions. Its higher variants add features such as a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, connected LED lighting, dashcam and larger infotainment screens.
