Bengaluru: TVS Motor Company, a global leader in the two and three-wheeler segments, has unveiled its latest electric scooter, the TVS Orbiter. Priced at ₹99,900 (ex-showroom, inclusive of PM e-Drive scheme, Bengaluru and New Delhi), the Orbiter is designed to transform urban commuting with its blend of advanced technology, sustainability, and rider comfort.

Segment-first innovations for urban mobility

The TVS Orbiter comes packed with segment-first features, including a 158 km IDC range, cruise control, hill hold assist, and a spacious 34-litre under-seat boot space capable of holding two helmets. It also introduces an industry-first 14-inch front wheel, which improves stability and ride comfort in city conditions.

Additional highlights include enhanced aerodynamic efficiency, a straight-line 290 mm footboard, and a long 845 mm flatform seat for superior comfort. Designed with practicality in mind, the Orbiter promises a smooth and convenient ride for both rider and pillion.

Design and rider-centric comfort

The Orbiter’s design philosophy focuses on being modern, purposeful, and aerodynamic. With its wide and upright handlebar, riders enjoy an ergonomic posture, making long commutes effortless. The scooter also features LED headlamps with integrated indicators, edge-to-edge combination lamps, and a USB 2.0 charging port with an accessible storage box.

Its 169 mm ground clearance ensures stability across varied road conditions, while the dual riding modes — Eco and Power — with regenerative braking, add both safety and efficiency.

Technology and connectivity

TVS has equipped the Orbiter with advanced connectivity features through its dedicated mobile app. Riders can access real-time battery status, odometer readings, navigation, and alerts directly on their smartphones. The scooter’s coloured LCD digital cluster also supports call and message notifications.

The Orbiter offers:

  • Proactive safety features such as crash, fall, towing, anti-theft, geo-fencing, and time-fencing alerts.

  • Rider assist tools including cruise control, parking assist, and hill hold assist.

  • Smart navigation with turn-by-turn guidance.

  • OTA (Over-the-Air) updates to ensure the system stays up to date.

  • Engineered for efficiency and control

At the core of the Orbiter is a 3.1 kWh battery pack, delivering a class-leading 158 km IDC range. Its aerodynamic design improves energy efficiency, while the 14-inch front wheel, paired with precise handling geometry, ensures excellent manoeuvrability in urban environments.

According to Gaurav Gupta, President, India 2W Business, TVS Motor Company, the Orbiter reflects TVS’s focus on technology and innovation. “With TVS Orbiter, we are expanding our EV ecosystem and accelerating the adoption of electric mobility in India. Our goal is to build products that set global benchmarks in quality, performance, and safety,” he said.
