TVS is set to manufacture sub-500cc motorcycles under the Norton brand in India, marking a significant move to compete with Triumph and KTM both domestically and globally. According to Bikewale, the first model will be a 300cc bike, powered by TVS’ new liquid-cooled 300cc engine, which will debut on the TVS RTX adventure motorcycle.
Norton’s Entry into the Sub-500cc Segment
🔹 Three new motorcycles are planned in this category, with the first launch expected in 2028.
🔹 The new 300cc platform is modular, allowing for larger displacement variants in the future.
🔹 Norton’s presence will intensify competition in the premium sub-500cc segment, currently dominated by Triumph, KTM, and Royal Enfield.
TVS & Norton: A Strategic Expansion
TVS acquired Norton in 2020 and has since invested in its revival. This expansion follows TVS’ collaboration with BMW, as it is also set to produce the BMW F 450 GS in India for global markets.
With rising demand for mid-capacity motorcycles, bringing Norton to India could help TVS establish itself as a global premium motorcycle brand.
