Bagalkot: Health and Family Welfare Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao inaugurated the cutting-edge Aski Super Speciality Hospital and Research Centre, a 100-bed facility, on Tuesday.
Praising the hospital’s adoption of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), he highlighted its role in enhancing healthcare services. “This remarkable initiative will serve as a model for others and provide immense benefits to rural communities. Bagalkot is rapidly transforming into a prominent healthcare destination,” he remarked.
Rao also emphasized the necessity of a government medical college in the district. “Bagalkot deserves a state-run medical college. I strongly back this proposal and will deliberate on it with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the Medical Education Minister. While I am here today for a private hospital’s inauguration, I hope to launch a government medical college on my next visit,” he stated.
Former IT-BT Minister S R Patil acknowledged the district’s growing recognition in healthcare. “Among North Karnataka districts, Bagalkot stands out for medical excellence, with some of the best doctors,” he said.
Shivalingeshwar Mahaswamiji of Charantimath expressed confidence that the hospital would provide much-needed relief to patients. “This world-class institution delivers holistic healthcare services,” he noted.
Dr Preeti Aski, Founder and Chief Medical Officer (CMO), shared that once fully functional, the hospital would create 450 high-tech jobs, benefiting the region’s workforce.
