Bengaluru: The Mangaluru police submitted a 900-page charge sheet to the state home department seeking permission to file the same in the court against Adithya Rao, who was arrested on January 22 for placing a bomb at the Mangaluru International Airport.
According to sources, Adithya Rao is currently in judicial custody.
Rao is likely to undergo brain mapping procedure as he was found to mentally unsound. The arrested accused consented to the procedure, but due to the lockdown, the police were not able to take him to Bengaluru for the same.
It can be recalled that on January 20, a low-intensity improvised explosive device (IED) was found at the airport premises in a bag. Two days later, Rao surrendered himself to the Bengaluru police as the investigators were close on his trail.
