BANTWAL: Police have arrested Jaya Poojary, a resident of Arala village in Bantwal taluk, for attempting to provoke communal tensions through an offensive Facebook post. The arrest comes after authorities registered a suo moto case against him for posting objectionable content targeting women and religion.
The post, which sparked concerns about its potential to disrupt communal harmony, was brought to the attention of the police, who acted swiftly to address the matter. Following his arrest, Poojary was produced before the court, which has remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody.
