The PUC results announced on Tuesday revealed a mixed performance for Belagavi and Chikodi educational districts. Belagavi climbed one spot from 27th to 26th in the state rankings, while Chikodi dropped from 15th to 24th.

In Belagavi, 20,995 students appeared for the exams, with 13,724 passing, recording a pass percentage of 65.3%. Stream-wise, science topped with 74.6%, followed by commerce at 67.1%, and arts at 54.4%. Rural students had a 58% pass rate, while urban students did better at 67.7%. Female students outperformed males significantly, with 70.5% versus 49.8%.

Chikodi saw 28,358 students appear, of which 18,933 passed, registering a 66.7% pass rate. Science stream led with 79.2%, followed by commerce at 68.8% and arts at 55.7%. Female students once again outshone their male counterparts with a 74.6% pass rate, compared to 52.1%.

Deputy Director of PU Belagavi, MM Kamble, acknowledged the district’s upward movement and emphasized continued efforts to improve.
