Bengaluru Woman Alleges BMTC Bus Hit Her Car, Calls for Action
A Bengaluru woman, Shweta Mohanty, has taken to social media to accuse a BMTC bus driver of aggressive driving that resulted in damage to her car. In her post on X (formerly Twitter), Mohanty detailed an incident on Outer Ring Road (ORR) where the bus reportedly cornered her vehicle for 3 kilometers before hitting it and breaking her rearview mirror. The driver allegedly justified the action by saying she was driving slowly and then fled the scene.
BMTC responded to the allegation, confirming that a complaint against the driver has been filed. Karnataka’s Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic and Safety) noted that the case has been forwarded for further action and emphasized ongoing efforts to improve driving discipline through proactive training.
The incident has sparked a debate online. Some users have suggested that BMTC drivers might be overworked and stressed, advocating for more understanding towards their challenging job conditions. Others have called for accountability and better driving standards to ensure road safety.
